Climate Action Plan Consultation
Why is a Climate Action Plan Needed?
Climate change is one of the biggest challenges facing humanity and addressing it requires action to be taken at all levels from the personal level up to national governments and beyond to international agencies. As the Annual Mean Land Temperature Chart below shows (Source - BBC News), the world is getting warmer.
The need to act is highlighted by the UK government hosting the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow in November this year.
Organisations ranging from the UN, national governments, local governments and parish councils have all developed their own Climate Action Plan (CAP).
One way Rudby Parish Council can help the Parish to protect/enhance its environment is to develop its own CAP.
What should be included in a Climate Action Plan?
The Parish Council would like to hear your views on whether it should produce a CAP and, if it does, what to include in the plan. To gather your views, a simple questionnaire is available. The questionnaire is open to anyone resident in the Parish regardless of their age.
- Complete the online questionnaire; or
- Download the questionnaire in pdf format or Word format to complete off-line; or
- Complete a paper copy which is available from the Hub, Northside.
Completed downloaded or paper copies should be returned to the Hub
*** The survey is open from 5 July to 12 August ***
